Aging is another unavoidable cause. As you grow older, your skin tends to lose its youthful glow. As a result, the skin around your eyes may start to droop making it look worse. Changes in your body chemistry such as hormone levels may also trigger dark circles to form around your eyes.
Your lifestyle may also be at fault. It is fairly common knowledge that your eyes look puffier when you are tired. No one can blame you for staying up late, whether by necessity or just to party. Try to keep it to a minimum though. Do yourself a favor and get enough sleep.
Foods that have high salt content should be avoided as well. Also, you might want to try and cut back on caffeine and alcohol. These food items only make things worse for you. Do not forget to drink lots of water as well.
